Welcome to our lovely family home in Provence.

Where is it?

The house is situated in the Vaucluse area of Provence in a rural setting just outside the village of Serignan du Comtat which is about a 10 minute drive from the centre of the Roman town of Orange, and about a 30 minute drive from Avignon.

Serignan has the usual shops, 2 bakers, a butcher, pharmacy, 2 small supermarkets, garage and has a small market on a Wednesday morning. There is also a locally renowned Michelin Starred Restaurant and Serignan now has its own Pizza Restaurant and take away, which we can highly recommend.


What the area has to offer

Set in the heart of the Rhone Valley, there are plenty of famous wine producing villages to visit, for example, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, or the picturesque villages tucked under Mont Ventoux, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise, Sablet, Seguret...The Routes des Vins starting at St Cecile les Vignes (10 minutes away) is worth a drive.

Mont Ventoux (often snowcapped during the winter months) is nearby, and can be seen from almost anywhere in the area, along with the Dentelles de Montmirail. You can drive right to the top for sensational views. The roman town of Vaison la Romaine at the foot of the mountain is very pretty, and has a fabulous market on Tuesday mornings.

Avignon is a beautiful city you can see the famous bridge (Sur le pont, d'Avignon ...), The Popes Palace, and there are plenty of designer shops. Less expensive shopping is at the Centre Commerciale at Le Pontet, north Avignon, exit from the A7 motorway, where you will find a huge range of outlets and a GIANT Auchan!

Across the River Rhone, you will find the Ardeche, an mountainous region with forests, rivers and deep ravines. The spectacular drive down the Gorges de l'Ardeche is not to be missed. Or you can hire canoes and come down the hard way!
